How Sierra DigiTally Works

Tallying lumber: Sierra's patented method is quick and accurate.  Operator simply scans and captures widths in a bundle.

• Step 1  :  Hold the Sierra RapidScan Ruler against the lumber
• Step 2  :  Scan width barcode
• Step 3  :  DigiTally does the rest automatically;  calculates board-feet (or m3), adds 1 piece, saves the tally; all at once.

But tallying is not everything that Sierra DigiTally does... there's a lot more:

Managing data:  All the packs (bundles) with detailed tallies are saved on the device.  They are searchable, updatable, they can be ordered by date or product, dimensions and units can be changed and DigiTally will auto-compute tallies.

Synchronizing:  When finished tallying, operator uploads packs/bundles to the inventory application Sierra Stock.  Device data can be synchronized with the main database, downloading new packs, removing shipped/deleted packs.   

Printing:  Operator can print bar-coded labels from a mobile-printer, or an industrial printer, and tag the lumber they just tallied.  They can also print a tally report to the office printer, from their device.

Transactions:  DigiTally can also record transactions, by simply selecting a transaction like "Shipment", and scanning the barcodes of each bundle to ship.
